  • Recommendations to Get the Most from “CATCH THE WAVE: 90 Days to a New Experience with Christ”

    1. Read your Devotional and answer questions at an “appointed” time with God each day.
      2. Let God show you places you should change or repent in your life.
        3. Take notes on each sermon.
          4. Be active in at least 2 small groups for the 90 Days. (Sunday School is a small group. Ask the staff or the Ministry Help Desk about other groups.)
            5. Use the 90 days to identify your spiritual gifts, interests, and talents.
              6. Commit yourself to the ministry that is best for you.
                7. Celebrate the life that God wants for you.

Wednesday, Oct. 31 — Joey, A Great Model

Joey Smith, a deacon, a spiritual warrior, and a good friend, died yesterday. Much could be said about Joey’s life and his model for others. The greatest thing about Joey was his balance. Joey was disciplined in his family life, his finances, his church commitment, his work, his friendships, his recreation, and [...]

Tuesday, Oct. 30 — Wisdom and Discipline

I have always enjoyed the precision flying of the Blue Angels.  It takes a lot of discipline to fly these difficult formations.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge,
but fools despise wisdom and discipline. (Prov. 1:7)
I sometimes wonder if we cherish the same values held by past generations.  For example, Proverbs 1:7 mentions [...]

Monday, Oct. 29 — Seven Challenge Goals

As we look at the characteristics of the Fruit of the Spirit, there are 7 goals that will help us toward a Christ-like character:

Be consistent in Worship and Sunday School
Be a faithful Steward of what you have
[...]

Thursday, Oct. 25 — Good People

Do you know any good people?  I am privileged to be surrounded by good people both in our church and in our community.  It is a joy to see people who honor Christ our Savior by living Christian lives.  This week I have seen good people ministering to people in the hospital, encouraging the grieving [...]

Wednesday, Oct. 24 — I don’t feel “good”!

Have you had a child come say to you, “I don’t feel good!”  You go into a hundred question exercise to find what is ailing them only to discover finally that something happened that is bothering them.  They are not feeling good in their “feelings.”
What about us as adults?  Are there times we don’t feel good [...]
