  • Recommendations to Get the Most from “CATCH THE WAVE: 90 Days to a New Experience with Christ”

    1. Read your Devotional and answer questions at an “appointed” time with God each day.
      2. Let God show you places you should change or repent in your life.
        3. Take notes on each sermon.
          4. Be active in at least 2 small groups for the 90 Days. (Sunday School is a small group. Ask the staff or the Ministry Help Desk about other groups.)
            5. Use the 90 days to identify your spiritual gifts, interests, and talents.
              6. Commit yourself to the ministry that is best for you.
                7. Celebrate the life that God wants for you.

  • Be Blessed — Be a Blessing

    Have you read the call of Abram (Abraham)?  Read what God says and count the times the words based on “bless” appear in the Genesis 12 account:

    1 The LORD had said to Abram, “Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you.

     2 “I will make you into a great nation
           and I will bless you;
           I will make your name great,
           and you will be a blessing.

     3 I will bless those who bless you,
           and whoever curses you I will curse;
           and all peoples on earth
           will be blessed through you.”

    Did you catch the phrases with the use of the words?  God says, “I will bless you.”  He then tells Abram, “you will be a blessing.”  God then repeats the two phrases with more detail, “I will bless those who bless you,” and then finally “all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

    God’s purpose for Abraham becomes a purpose for us — To be blessed we must also be a blessing!

    Meditate on these two thoughts:  How have I been blessed?  How have I been a blessing?

    1. Much like Abram & David were blessed beyond measure; I too have more then deserved. All I want is to give Christ away to others: to love others, to give to the less fortunate, to assist those in need, etc. With Christ’s ministry as the perfect example of sacrificial giving, how can I deny His plan?

    2. well, I’m a little behind but boy, I sure am glad your back!
      My small group met last night and the blessings just overflowed! We were praising and blessing all over! God is so awesome. When he can put 8 ladies together that are sooo… totally different and we can have soooo…. much in common and love so much, WOW! I was sick all weekend and missed Sunday. Today the blessing from that is I was up and (almost) running again by Tuesday. God’s way of making me rest! Just enough!
      I could not find space to write all the blessings God has brought me in the last 18 years since I ws saved and gave my life to Christ. When I try to list them, even just in my mind, it totally overwhelms me. I mean it’s just almost unbelievable when I think about it. I try to pass on the blessing every day. God has given me gifts I am just realizing and through the mentors he has blessed me with I am using them! Just getting started but what a blessing! There is a little poem I used to say alot…”Yesterday is history, tomorow is a mystery, today is a gift, that’s why they call it the present!” Every day is a new blessing and it is so simple to pass on. As simple as a smile, a kind word or even just a glance right into someone’s eye’s. You may be the only Jesus someone ever see’s!

    3. I have made it a practice in the past few years to answer people who ask “How are you” with a simple “I’m blessed”. But it doesn’t end there. Each time I do that I stop and in my mind I try to think of a blessing that I have been given. Sunday when I was greeting people, and burdens seemed heavyer than usual, I still had Blessings for wach time I said it. Even today with the new trials that today is bringing I still am sooooooo blessed. I guess I have been shown that by my MOM, John Mark. Today in the midst of uncertainity, “I am so Blessed”. Thank you Lord. K

    4. When I read the blog today I thank of a song Jeff & Sherrie Easter sings Called Thank you Lord for your blessings on me. We have a roof above us, shoes on our feet, cloths on our back, food on our table, and a great family, but most of all LORD we have you. In my heart today, I’m rejoicing and praising God.

      Thank You Lord For Your Blessings on Me

    5. To My Hub: HAPPY BIRTHDAY HONEY!

      Am just now putting together a slideshow of all the pictures with him in it from this year, choosing songs – “I AM BLESSED” by Rachel Lampa fits the bill:

      “I feel you near me, you soothe me when I’m weary, oh, Lord, for all the worst and the best, I am blessed.”

      Summer gardens. Sunrises. Snow on pine. Smile of children. Salvation. Baptism. Karyoke. Laughter. Family. Church. Work. Rest. Prayer. Play.

      We HAVE been so blessed this year!
