Finding God Stories

People collect stories:  family stories, fishing and hunting stories, odd character stories, medical stories, and so on.  The Bible collects “God stories,” stories of how God involves himself in the lives of men and women.  The Bible begins with the God story involving the very first human couple and ends with a God story describing an eternal home for all of the redeemed of all ages.  In the Bible there are God stories of His presence during suffering (Job) and his presence directing through difficulties to vindication (Joseph).  I dare say that you could find a God story in the Bible that relates to you.  The Bible encourages us that God will be with us because He has been with others.

We should also look for God stories in the lives of those around us.  They may not even be aware of the extent to which God has entered their  life stories, but looking you can see it for them – and for you!  It is such a blessing to see God at work today.

Tell me your God stories.  How has God made Himself known in your life?

  1. Not exactly a straight answer to the question, but I know in times when I get nervous trying to do something “for God”, he tends to always remind me that I have a view and picture of God that no one else has ever seen before the way I have, and if I don’t share it, no one else can. That always helps me get over the nerves.

  2. My God Story really began at 34 years old, and continues daily. My “story” began in a not good place, carried me through some not good things and has lead me so far to here today. The best place I’ve ever been, and I can’t wait to see what tomorow brings! God is soooooo….. good!
