Lynn Hybels, wife of the pastor of Willow Creek Community Church, coined the phrase Dangerous Women. Cindy Johnson introduced this quote to us through a bookmark given out at 2BC on Mother’s Day a couple of years ago. I like this description of Christan women. I believe that a woman filled with the Spirit, living by biblical principles, and on fire for Jesus is one of the most dangerous forces on earth — dangerous to Satan’s causes!
I would invite women who want to be dangerous for Christ to join together as spiritual warriors. Place your ideas here on meeting the challenges faced each day.
Thanks to Joan Bandy for the typed quote:
May We Be DANGEROUS Women
(~Lynne Hybels)
- May we be women who acknowledge our power to change, and grow, and be radically alive for God.
- May we pray deeply and teach wisely.
- May we be healers of wounds and righters of wrongs.
- May we weep with those who weep and speak for those who cannot speak for themselves.
- May we cherish children, embrace the elderly, and empower the poor.
- May we be strong and gentle leaders.
- May we sing songs of joy and laugh out loud in the face of fear.
- May we join our tribe and thank God for our sisters.
- May we never hesitate to let passion push us, conviction compel us, and righteous anger energize us.
- May we strike fear into all that is unjust and evil in the world.
- May we dismantle abusive systems and silence lies with truth.
- May we shine like stars in a darkened generation.
- May we do good in the name of Jesus and by the power of God.
- And in that name and by that power may we change the world.
Dear God, please make us DANGEROUS WOMEN!

I still really love this way of describing Christian women. I love the proactive implication—that WE are a threat to the kingdom of darkness because we walk in the light. I am so glad you added this to your blog.

This was my thought as I sat at the Deeper Still conference in Nashville. As I looked around at the arena full of 20,000 woman and heard of the 3,500 in the additional building I was moved to tears at the thought of what this many woman could do if they would unite to fight for our children to fight for the Lord like we should. What a difference we could make in the world. May it start her in Greenville, Lord. Could we not make the forces of evil tremble if we would unite. Blessings, K

Lord, continue to equip me to be a “dangerous woman”…I have this bookmark in my bible and I love it!!!
Concerning Love
A statement by Robert Schuller that goes something like this, “Our Strongest character trait is also our weakest character trait,” has stayed with me for many years. This morning I was thinking about what I know is my spiritual gift, which is, quite easily, showing love and giving encouragement. In thinking about it, Dr. Schuller’s statement can also apply to the use of my spiritual gifts.
If Satan can have me perceive an act toward me as being unloving or discouraging, then it is very easy for me to turn inward and dwell on it. As a result, I then tend to withhold my love and encouragement to others because of my being self-absorbed in my own feelings. My showing love has to then be intentional, if done at all, because I am not acting through my gifting. In thinking about it, I realize that gift is always going to be Satan’s direction of attack on me, so why am I ever surprised? Has anyone else experienced this connection between your spiritual gifts and where Satan tends to have the most success in attacking you?
I love this and am so glad I found your blog!
I love this and I do confirm if as women we knew how dangerous we are to the devil’s kingdom, we would unite more and stop allowing the devil to use us to destroy each other.
